I don't have any unfulfilled wish -- Lata Mangeshkar
On this special day, in an exclusive conversation with the tabloids, the lady with a golden voice expressed that she is very happy with whatever she has received till date, and she has no such wish which has remained unfulfilled.
Talking about her b’day, Lata told PTI, "I do not celebrate my birthday in a lavish way. I do not believe in cutting cakes. It will be a family affair...where all family members will be present. My whole day will be spent in accepting wishes from friends and fans worldwide. Later in the day, I will go for Hridaynath award function.”
"I don't have any unfulfilled wish. I am very satisfied with my life. God has been very kind and given me everything. I have no complaints with anyone," she further added.
Lata to be honored by Hridaynath award
Reportedly, the renowned singer will be honored with the newly instituted Hridaynath award later in the day today.
The award will be presented to her by the B-town megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
When asked how she is feeling about receiving this award, Lata said, “I am proud to accept this award. He is my guru though he is younger to me. I am very proud of him and my other siblings.
“Yeh bachche mere saamne bade huwe hai aur gaurav ki baat yeh hai ki kisine apne bure waqt pe ya apne mukaam pohochne mei mere madad nahin li. Even though our mother brought them up unke parvarish pe thoda bahut haath mera bhi hai. They are like my children.”

On her birthday, birthday girl Lata Mangeshkar revealed that besides singing, she likes cooking and clicking pictures.
Sharing her likings, the singing legend said, “Photography. I love clicking pictures. I also love cooking. Everyone loves my gaajar ka halwaa and pasanda. I also prefer sitting in my room and reading. Books are a different world I would like to get lost into.”
