Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh, who has been hospitalized following a brain hemorrhage, is reportedly on life support system and ventilator.

Doctors attending on the veteran singer have informed that though Jagjit Singh is presently kept under observation in the ICU, his condition is stable now.

Talking about Singh’s well-being, Dr. Sudhir Dagaonkar told PTI, "He is still in the ICU and will be there till his health improves. Since the patient is in ICU it means he is under observation....He is on life support system and ventilator. He seems to be stable.”

The 70-year-old singer, who has a history of heart ailments, was rushed to the Lilavati hospital on Friday.

B-town takes to Twitter to show their concern for Jagjit Singh
On learning about the Ghazal singer’s ill health, B-town took to the social networking site Twitter to show their concern for the ailing celebrity.

Expressing her concern for Jagjit Singh, celebrated singer Lata Mangeshkar tweeted, “mujhe abhi pata chala hai ki hum sab ke priya ghazal singer Jagjit Singhji ko brain hemorrhage hua hai aur woh hospital me hai, main ishwar se prarthana karti hu ki wo jald acche ho jaaye, aur aap sab bhi unke liye prarthana kijiye...”

Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan posted on his Twitterati, “Came to know from Lata-ji's tweet, famous ghazal singer Jagjit Singh has had a brain haemorrhage. Prayers for all to be well... Jagjit Singh that great ghazal singer is critical with brain haemorrhage... speedy recovery! Jagjit Singh - the man with the silken voice; smooth and endearing in all his ghazal renditions.”

Besides Lata Mangeshkar and Big B, the other celebrities who showed their concern for the hospitalized Ghazal singer include actor Akshay Kumar, filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, actor Anupam Kher, singers Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal.
