Nautanki is a part of everyday life, Ayushmann Khurrana
The actor who has been busy so far collecting awards for his debut performance in Vicky Donor is ready with another release this year, "Nautanki Saala". The movie is co-produced by Rohan Sippy and Ramesh Sippy.
Nautanki Saala plot revolves around theatre
As the title suggests the plot revolves around the theatre. Ayushmann is playing the role of a director who has a difficult time to drill theatrical sense into a naive actor played by Kunal Roy Kapur. The film's trailer promises it to be a laugh riot.
Selling his flick Ayushmann stated that, "It's also very quirky as 'Vicky Donor', also quite out-of-the-box. We are talking about theatre. None of the films has taken theatres very seriously, but we have and we have shot in a theatre. It is very unique."
Since the time of his dawn in the industry, Ayushmann is a man associated with gigs, stand ups and selling himself as a humour package. Banking on the title of the film, Ayushmann pointed out, "I think 'nautanki' is something everyone does and if we don't do it, then there would be no fun in life. We do some kind of a drama everyday, or lie to our teachers, in front of our directors or co-actor. So I think it's all part of the game."
Ramesh Sippy and Abhishek will be in a cameo
Ramesh Sippy has also roped in Abhishek Bachchan to pay a cameo for the film as he considers Abhishek to be his lucky mascot. Abhishek will be seen grooving to some tunes along with Kunal Roy Kapur, and Ayushmann. As a matter of fact, Rohan himself will appear in song in the film in song 'Dramebaaz'. Rohan revealed that, "I would be appearing in a song 'Dramebaaz'. It was the idea of the choreographer and the actors that I do an appearance."
Like "Vicky Donor's" "Paani Da rang", the producers of "Nautanki Saala" have exploited Ayushmann's vocal talent and he has sung two songs for the film, "Saadi Galli Aaja" and "Tu Hi Tu". The film starcast includes Pooja Salvi and Evelyn Sharma, it is slated for a theatrical release on April 12.
