Tidbits about Irrfan's newest venture
Irrfan who has garnered global acclaim for his portrayal of serious characters will be soon seen romancing ladies on screen.

With his next movie, the immensely talented actor will be venturing into the territory of romcom flicks.

“It’s a rustic love story set against the backdrop of Uttar Pradesh; basically, it’s in the 'Ishqiya' (2010) space,” revealed Anjum Rizvi who apparently roped in Khan for his romantic comedy even before the actor started shooting for 'Paan Singh Tomar'.

Unlike his last movie, in which the actor portrayed a legendary sportsman who was forced to transform into a dacoit, in this film, Irfan will be bringing to life a sleek brass band master who performs at weddings and woos ladies through his charisma.

“He is a member of this Saraswati Brass band in Lucknow. People will see him in a light role in a genre like this after a while.” elucidated Shiva Nair.

Aditi Rao Hydari in female lead
Shiva Nair came into lime light after directing Abhay Deol and Soha Ali Khan's 'Ahista Ahista' in 2006 and Naseeruddin Shah, Om Puri, Boman Irani and Paresh Raval's multi-starrer 'Maharathi' in 2008.

Though both films won critical acclaim they failed to impress the audience.

In the romantic comedy, Irrfan is paired opposite Aditi Rao Hydari, who was last seen in 'London Paris New York'. Irrfan and Aditi have earlier worked in 'Yeh Saali Zindagi' but they didn't share screen space.

“We were looking for a young face to play the part of a street-smart girl and Aditi suits the character perfectly,” disclosed Shiva.

The film is expected to go on floors in June of this year.
