Released in 3105 screens, the film has earned Rs 15 crore on the first day.

However, 'Don 2' has not been able to beat Salman’s 'Bodyguard' which topped the box office with Rs 21.6 crore on the opening day.

Interestingly trade pundits predict the film earn more during the Christmas weekend.

The movie that had an average occupancy of 85-90% on its opening day is expected to earn Rs 45-55 crore during the first the weekend.

'Don 2' has received a good response overseas.

Updating about the film’s overseas box office report, Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “ #Don2 update - U.K.: Wednesday: £ 117,138 Thursday: £ 86,675 Total: £ 203,813. Very good!”

“#Don2 update: Australia Thursday A$ 28,244 ... New Zealand Thursday NZ$ 15,118.”

“#Don2 update: Middle East [incl UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Muscat, Kuwait] Thursday $ 385,000. Fabulous!,” he further posted.

‘Don 2’ response has been superb -- Kunal Kapoor
Bollywood actor Kunal Kapoor who was not a part of the promotional tour for 'Don 2' has done an important role in the film.

Upbeat with the box office report, Kunal stated, “The response has been superb. We expected a good response, but I think it's been far beyond anyone's expectations.

“Everyone liked it. I think you know once the movie works, people like things about the movie, then they like everything about the movie.”
