After receiving the honor, Asha who made a mark in the Guinness World Records confessed that she is honored for receiving this award.
Asha is elated with the Guinness honor
The singer, who has carved a niche for herself in the industry, has an accomplishment of having completed 11,000 solo recordings in over 20 languages since 1947.
Asha was conferred with the honor at the Asian awards function in London.
The vocalist thanked her music researcher friend Vishwas Nerulkar for helping her in getting the Guinness title by giving the list of songs recorded to the Guinness World authorities.
Elated about her Guinness honor, the evergreen singer stated, “I am truly feeling that I am being recognized by the whole world. I always knew that I had sung the most number of songs among all other singers, but I decided to keep quiet about it (she kept quiet when the title was given to Lata Mangeshkar).
“I am thankful to Vishwas Nerulkar for tabulating all my songs correctly and providing the correct information to the Guiness authorities .”

The reigning melody queen who still thinks her sister, legendary singer Lata Mangeskar’s voice is melodious and soothing to the ear when compared to the other female singers in the industry admitted that she is yet to receive congratulatory calls from her close family members.
Asha who has donned the grease paint for the first time would be seen in the Marathi film ‘Maaee' with yesteryear actress Padmini Kolhapure. The legend admitted that she would still continue to sing whenever required.
Thanking her fans, Asha stated that it is their love and constant support that has helped her through all these years.
“Mein apne chahanewalo ko kehna chahungi ke aapka pyar mere liye issi tarha se barkarar rahein aur jis tarha aapne mere gaano ko pyaar kiya hai usi tarhan meri acting (Hindi film 'Maaee') ko bi aapka pyar aur ashirwad miley (To all those who love me, I would like to say that I hope your love for me remains the way it has always been and just the way you have loved my songs, you will love my Hindi film 'Maaee' too)," further said the songster.
