Abhay felt ignored by Dibakar

The bond shared between the two went much beyond just actor-director relationship. People close to Dibakar are very well aware of the fact how teasing each other used to be a part of their routine. This was the only reason that people didn’t believe Abhay Deol’s words at the first instant when he told Dibakar, “I’m leaving. There’s no point me staying on. You’ve no time for me.|” People took this as a prank of Abhay till the time it became known that Abhay actually meant what he said.

Giving further information about the incident, an eye witness present in that party said, “We all heard Abhay say this to Dibakar and we thought this was an inside joke between them, since they are constantly pulling each other’s leg. But Abhay was serious. He walked out and Dibakar didn’t try to stop him, although he looked surprised.”

Hard to digest for industry people

It’s not even easy for the movie industry people to digest this news as Abhay and Dibakar’s friendship remained undeterred since the time they worked together in 2008 in Oye Lucky Lucky Oye. This sudden incident has really surprised everyone. As the film gave a grand welcome to Abhay Deol by becoming his first commercial success, the actor always praised Dibakar’s work and his talent. This reason was big enough to bring them together on a single platform in Shanghai for working on a new project.

Fan’s craze for Emraan added to Abhay’s frustration

As per the eye witnesses, fan’s craze for Emraan Hashmi was also the reason of frustration for Abhay which came out as an outburst on Dibakar however; the extra attention of Dibakar on Emraan also can’t be denied. Explaining the entire episode, an eye witness revealed, “While shooting in Latur and Baramati, the crowds went crazy for Emraan. In the beginning, Abhay did not take it badly. But then when the story was repeated everywhere, it naturally took a toll on his self-esteem. To top off the overt tilt of balance in the popularity scales between the two actors, Abhay also began to feel that Dibakar was showing a certain amount of partiality towards Emraan.”

No tension between Abhay and Emraan: Dibakar

Commenting on the entire episode, Dibakar told, “I don’t know what happened. But Abhay suddenly got up and walked out saying I had no time for him. I was surprised. But it would be wrong to say I sensed any tension between Abhay and Emraan during the shooting of Shanghai.

As actors, they’ve both gone through a lot of churning and vilification before getting to where they are today. So, they empathize with one another’s circumstances. As for the rivalry, I didn’t sense any and certainly didn’t create any. Maybe people felt a tension between them in real life because their on-screen characters are in conflict with each other.”
