Before acting, Akshay Kumar was working as a chef in Thailand and learned martial arts as well....

And now, his wish will soon be granted.
SRK is about to star in a prestigious Indo-Hollywood venture opposite 'Titanic' star Leonardo Di Caprio.
A thriller in the making, the film tentatively titled ‘Xtreme City’, will have both the legendary stars in the lead roles. The film is being produced by one of the greatest directors in Hollywood, Martin Scorsese and will be directed by Paul Schrader.
About ‘Xtreme City’
If sources are to be believed, SRK plays the role of a don in the film, while Leonardo plays a cop. The film narrates the tale of two such friends, who are poles apart and belong to two radically different worlds.
With a back-story of UN peacekeeping force in Somalia during the 90s, the film narrates how an Indian and an American become friends, when Leo saves SRK’s life. After the incident, they decide to part ways and have separate lives of their own.
Years later, due to some family obligation Leo returns to India, when he has to cross paths with his old Indian friend, whose life he had once saved.
Mushtaq Shiekh, scriptwriter of ‘Xtreme City’, further added, "Xtrme City is a cross-cultural thriller designed for both Bollywood and Hollywood. And if we get it right, this will be an attempt at true global entertainment."
Mushtaq Shiekh on the Indo-Hollywood venture
Mushtaq Shiekh has been the acclaimed writer of SRK’s much awaited sci-fi film ‘Ra.One’. Both Mushtaq and Paul Schrader have been involved with the making of ‘Xtreme City’ for over a year.
The two along with SRK, Leonardo and Martin Scorsese met in the Berlin Film Festival last year, where Karan Johar’s ‘My name is Khan’ had its premiere. Martin was also a part of the festival as his film ‘Shutter Island’ was also being screened.
According to sources, Martin had proposed to make the film, with the production responsibilities being handled by both, Scorsese's company Sikelia Productions in Hollywood and SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment.
Mushtaq Shiekh confirmed, "It's true. We are all elated. Martin loved the script and it meant the world to me as the writer of the film along with Paul Schrader. But when he comes in as the producer of the project, then I am thrilled as it takes the film to another level completely.”
