The cast and crew of ‘Patiala House' will be flying down to Patiala to walk the red carpet for the star studded premiere night of their film which is supposedly going to be held at the SRS Cinema in Patiala on Feb. 10.

Incidentally, when the Managing Director of SRS cinema Tinku Singh was asked about the opening show of ‘Patiala House', all that he had to say was that the makers have asked him to make all the necessary arrangements for it.

He further stated that they are certainly happy for organizing the premiere of ‘Patiala House’ in one of their cinema houses.

Akshay met Badal for a sports ceremony
According to reports, Akshay, who met the Punjab chief minister last week for a sports function in Mohali, had a few rounds of discussion surrounding his forthcoming film ‘Patiala House', and this was when the actor decided to change the venue for the première.

Talking about this, sources stated, “Parkash Singh Badal wondered why the premiere of Patiala House should not be held in Patiala. Isn't it the most logical thing in the world to have premiere of Patiala House in Patiala? Akshay and director Nikhil Advani were stumped. Within minutes everything was decided.”

Meanwhile, confirming the change of setting for their first show of ‘Patiala House', the director of the film, Nikhil Advani stated, "Yes, we are shifting the premiere to Patiala on the Punjab CM's request. It will be held at the SRS Cinema in "Patiala on February 10. Rishi Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma and I will be flying down to Patiala for the premiere.”

Akshay says ‘Patiala House' comedy is different from his last three films
After doing a strew of comedy films to tickle your funny bones, Akshay will now be seen in a sentimental family drama with cricket in the background.

Speaking about ‘Patiala House', Akki stated that ‘Patiala House' is different from his last three films, ‘Khatta Meetha’, ‘Action Replayy’, and 'Tees Maar Khan', as the genre of comedy is different in each of them.

“In fact Khatta Meetha was pretty much a chilling situational drama with an edge of slapstick comedy. Action Replayy was a very innocent 70's harmless comedy film whereas Tees Maar Khan was in-your-face-line-after-line smart ass comedy. Now Patiala House has very dry quiet comedy aspect to it,” stated Akki.

Apart from the film, when the actor was quizzed about his costar Anushka Sharma, Akshay stated that she’s extremely talented as witnessing her ability on the sets of the film had shocked him.

“I must say that our Anushka has a vital role to play in this film. She is my shoulder, my brick wall and my unconditional support in this film. She is an extremely talented actress who has even shocked me on the sets with her ability,” stated the actor.
