Held at the YRF Studios on Saturday, the event saw the presence of actors like Rekha, Sridevi, Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit, and many more. The hosts of the event were chocolate boy Imran Khan and the handsome Ranbir Kapoor.
“The performances were power packed with the beautiful Madhuri Dixit unleashing her magic and spellbinding the audience as she danced with Shahrukh Khan to hits from their movies like Devdas and Dil To Pagal Hai,” informed a source.
Other attractions of the event were Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, Anushka Sharma, Ranveer Singh, who performed on a medley of songs from their previous and upcoming films.
Madhuri, Amitabh honored
The 'Dhak-Dhak' girl Madhuri Dixit Nene was honored for completing 25 years in the film industry. Former Miss World and B-Town hottie Aishwarya Rai Bachchan presented the ‘Black Lady’ to a pleasantly surprised Madhuri.
Another achievement award was conferred to Amitabh Bachchan for celebrating his 40 years of contribution to the industry. Bollywood’s Baadshah Shahrukh Khan and iconic director Yash Chopra presented the award to Big B.
The legendary singer Munna De was given the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Shahrukh outshines Salman
Thought the Best Film for 2010 was bagged undoubtedly by action comedy ‘Dabangg’, the Best Actor award was bagged by Shahrukh Khan for ‘My Name Is Khan’, instead of ‘Dabangg’s’ Chulbul Pandey, played by Salman Khan.
“As Shahrukh Khan won his 14th Filmfare award for Best Actor for MNIK, his co-star Kajol bagged the Best Actress award,” said a source.
“Also, Salman Khan, who swept away maximum awards for his film Dabangg at most of the Award functions, missed out at Filmfare. Shahrukh Khan scored over Salman Khan at 56th Filmfare Awards."
The award function will be aired on Sony Entertainment Television on Feb. 6.
