‘Mirch’ trailer out; gets thumbs up


Bollywood’s first in the erotic genre, ‘Mirch’ finally released its theatrical trailer, which gives out flavors of comedy and a few love making scenes too.


‘Mirch’ explores gender equality
The lusty film, which managed to get an overwhelming response at various film festivals for it’s witty, intelligent humor, has an interesting star casts that includes Konkona Sen Sharma, Raima Sen, Shahana Goswami, Mahie Gill, Ila Arun, Boman Irani, Arunonday Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Tisca Chopra and Shreyas Talpade.

Speaking about ‘Mirch’, director Vinay Shukla stated, “Mirch is India's first film in the erotic genre, Yet the beauty lies in the fact that it is not a titillating film.”

The director further stated that after watching the first rushes of this stunning sex comedy, filmmaker Aparna Sen had appreciated it.

'Mirch' is not an adult comedy film
‘Mirch’ which has a compound of four different stories interconnected with one storyline deals with a serious issue. It explores gender equality in a relationship, interwoven with comedy.

This sex-comedy does not deal with adultery in films like the usual Bollywood slapstick comedies.

"There are multiple narratives running in the film but all are interconnected to seem like an organic whole. Mirch is a sex-comedy it doesn't deal with the theme of adultery like slapsticks," further stated Shukla.

The movie is about sexual emancipation of women. It has an interesting storyline that for the first time deals with a woman, who manages to prove her innocence after her husband sees her with an another man.

Konkona dons two roles in ‘Mirch’
The 31-year-old actress, Konkona stated that she portrays a princess and a fashionable woman in the film.

“I essay a Rajasthani princess and a contemporary woman. The movie is about a director showcasing four of his stories that he wants to make into a film. The stories are about the sexual emancipation of women.

"I feature in two of the stories. There is a fantastic ensemble cast in the movie. The women in the film are naughty and saucy but Vinay has treated the subject in a sophisticated manner, it is definitely not vulgar,” stated Konkona.
