Reportedly, this directorial debut of Danish Aslam is a modern day love story that will go well with the young generation, especially those in a long-distance relationship. Basically, the movie deals with the subject of giving each other space in a relationship.
Talking about his film, Kunal Kohli informs, “It's a young urban story, but at its heart it has a classical romantic element to it.”
The movie also has Sharmila Tagore, Navin Nischol, Shahana Goswami and Lilette Dubey playing the supporting cast.
A peep into the story
'Break Ke Baad' is a romantic comedy that revolves around two childhood friends, who become lovers when in their teens and then end up going separate paths as one of them wants to pursue their dreams.
Coming to the screenplay of the movie, ‘Break Ke Baad’ is the story of Abhay Gulati and Aaliya Khan, played by Imran and Deepika, respectively.
Aaliya wants to become an actress and is ready to forsake anything to fulfill her dream, while Abhay is not sure of what to become.
The story takes a nasty turn when Aaliya takes the decision to study in Australia and Abhay is left feeling insecure about losing his love.
As the story progresses, both realize that the long-distance thing is not working and so, they decide to give each other time and part ways in order to make a career.
They cry, they fall and each ends up becoming a stronger individual. But, what happens next? Do they meet again? Do they realize their dreams? To find out the answers, watch 'Break Ke Baad'.
Director’s take
Newcomer director, Danish Aslam says that through ‘Break Ke Baad’, he wanted to portray a couple, who knew each other inside-outside and so what happens when they finally head towards splitsvilla.
"Space is a word that is used a lot in a modern relationship. It's almost a break-up mantra. I wanted to explore that concept rather than a conventional love story where two people don't know each other, meet and fall in love,” explains Danish Aslam.
