It was an allergic reaction to the antibiotics--Hrithik

Bollywood’s heartthrob Hrithik Roshan, who’s receiving rave reviews for his excellent performance in ‘Guzaarish’, on Sunday scared his family to death when he suffered a severe allergic reaction to an antibiotic, he was taking for malaria.

Hrithik’s family members reacted quickly and admitted him to Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai, where doctors immediately took control of the situation and managed to save the actor from suffering near fatal consequences of reaction.

After making slight recovery, Hrithik on Sunday night released a statement for the benefit of his fans and media, "It was an allergic reaction to the antibiotics I was taking. Lungs and throat went into spasm, couldn’t breathe.

"Lips became ten times bare size. I was rushed to the hospital in time. I am under observation and will be discharged late night. I reached hospital just in time...All cool now. I'm under observation."

As per media reports, the actor was rushed to hospital on Sunday afternoon, after he started complaining of sharp pain in his chest.

Hrithik was going to attend funeral?
Tabloids started buzzing with various possible theories immediately after finding out that the actor has been admitted in hospital.

Reportedly, Hrithik, on Sunday was getting ready to attend the funeral of a paraplegic named Ashutosh, with whom the actor had spent quite a lot of time before starting shooting for ‘Guzaarish'.

Hrithik, who has been unwell for some time, wanted to attend the funeral at all cost. So, in order to fix the situation, he popped the antibiotic pill.

However, rather than making him feel alright, the pill ended up causing allergic reaction and the actor had to be taken to hospital for treatment.

After effects of partying too hard?
Another interesting theory circulating in the tabloids is that Hrithik’s condition was due to excessive partying on previous night with brother-in-law Zayed Khan.

As per some other reports, Hrithik, who’s last release ‘Kites' bombed at the box-office, was celebrating the successful opening of ‘Guzaarish'.
