The rumors intensified when tabloids reported via a source familiar with the matter that Salman has put on hold a movie project starring himself alongside Kangana.
Reportedly, the movie starring Kangana in female lead opposite Salman was the remake of director Mahesh Manjrekar’s Marathi film ‘Mee Shivajiraje Bhosle Bolto.’
Manjrekar was also supposed to direct the Hindi remake but as per sources, now the film has been put on hold for indefinite period due to fallout between Sallu and Kangana.
However, as per an insider, “The script is undergoing some changes. Moreover, a few other members of the cast have also been changed. Salman himself is supervising the details.”
The source added, media is reading too much between the lines and Kangana still is very much the leading lady of the film.
Reason for delay
As per sources, there are two main reasons for delaying the project for now; first Salman is super-busy with ongoing shooting of reality television show ‘Bigg Boss 4’ and is also shooting for two films ‘Kick’ and ‘Bodyguard’ back-to-back.
“Both Kick and Bodyguard are very big films and Salman is not going to let his fans down,” said a source.
Second reason as per insiders is newbie Sonakshi Sinha, who starred opposite him in his latest hit ‘Dabangg.’ Salman is so impressed with the actress that he’s promoting her like crazy these days to all his producer friends in the industry.
Sonakshi to replace Kangana
Some sources are also claiming that Salman is considering replacing Kangana with Sonakshi. Though, so far no official confirmation on this matter has been made.
When Manjrekar was contacted to comment on this rumors, he said “ Dekhte hain kab shuru karenge meri film. Why can’t it be that Kangana stars in the film? It’s not Sonakshi, but then, at the end of the day, it is up to Salman to decide and divulge.”
