Crook: A sensitive subject on racial attacks

Emraan Hashmi starrer, 'Crook: It’s good to be bad’, is a situational film directed by Mohit Suri that dwells on the sensitive subject of the racial attacks on Indians in Australia.

A Bhatt's production, the movie revolves around the life of Jai, played by Emraan Hashmi, a middle class man who travels to Australia to turn his dreams into gold.

Talking about his character in the movie that releases this Friday, Emraan said, “I play a character who is aggressive but at the same time he is endearing and funny. He believes in this weird motto that it's good to be bad because he feels that good guys finish last.”

The others
Though the feel of the movie has nothing innovative to boast of, it does have a new leading lady Neha Sharma, who plays the role of Suhani, Jai’s love interest.

The bad man, Gulshan Grover is also seen in the film that keeps seeing its protagonist get in trouble all the while. Grover plays Inspector Joseph, who is a good guy and aims to set Jai on the right path.

Jai wants to marry Suhani, to get a permanent residence in Australia and finds himself stuck, after he witnesses assault on a fellow Indian. He wants to tell everything to the police, but fears questions being raised on his own identity.

Tagged as a suspense movie, Mahesh Bhatt insists that his movie is a mix of romance, tears, laughter, seriousness and some heart rendering moments that would make the masses think.

Music of 'Crook'
The music of the film has been composed by Pritam Chakraborty. The music score boasts of some good numbers, especially the Punjabi song ‘Challa’, crooned by Babbu Mann and Suzanne D' Mello. The song is already a chart buster, with almost everybody likes it.

The movie is all set to hit the silver screen on Oct. 8 and may be for a select audience, as it may not go to well with the people, having a weak heart or the ones, who want to catch up on something light.
