Buzz has it that Armaan has dropped out of college in England to pursue his dream of a successful acting career and the Kapoors' seem to be in full favor of his decision.
Armaan wants to be a director
Apart from sharing the same genes with cousins Karisma, Kareena, and Ranbir Kapoor, the young man has assisted Karan Johar on ‘My Name Is Khan’ and has taken an acting course from Anupam Kher’s acting school, An Actor Prepares.
“Working under the guidance of Karan Johar has been a very learning experience and Anupam sir’s school has helped me to open up," said Armaan.
Very few know that in 1948, at the age of twenty-four, Raj Kapoor had established his own studio, RK Films, and was the youngest film director of his time.
Interestingly, it seems the young brigade of the Kapoor family have it all in their blood. Like Ranbir, who has already expressed his desire to direct films someday, Armaan too hopes to contribute to his grandfather’s renowned RK Films.
“I want to act in films for sure, I don’t know when it will happen. But I will also direct a film one day," said the new kid on the block.
My grandfather is my role model: Armaan
Talking about his role model in the family, Armaan said, “My grandfather. For instance, ‘Mera Naam Joker’ wasn’t a hit but I think it was too ahead of its times."
“Today many people feel that it is one of the best films from Bollywood. Unfortunately I didn’t see my grandfather. The only way I can get to know him is through his films. I am fortunate that I can connect with him via his films.”
About his relationship with cousins, Ranbir and Kareena, Armaan revealed, “I am closer to Ranbir since there is less of an age gap. Kareena and me have 12 years of age difference so we never got enough time to spend.”
