Salman Khan-Sonakshi Sinha starrer 'Dabangg,' produced by Arbaaz Khan and directed by Anurag Kashyap's brother Abhinav Kashyap, is slated to release on Sept. 10.
'Dabangg' sequel soon
Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who plays the main antagonist Cheedi Singh, a youth politician in 'Dabangg' promises to return with his revenge in 'Dabangg 2'.
"A sequel will happen... I don't want to reveal a lot but Cheedi Singh may come back in the sequel," revealed the actor.
Sood, 37, said, "Cheedi completes Chulbul Pandey (Salman) and they both are incomplete without each other. He is a powerful and unpredictable character. He adds humour to the negativity and is quite similar to the character of Gabbar Singh."
In the same way, debutant producer Arbaaz is all excited just with the idea of 'Dabangg’s' sequel. “If the movie turns out to be a huge hit, then why not!,” added Arbaaz.
According to critics and industry insiders, 'Dabangg' is a hard-hitting, entertaining, emotional narrative of a corrupt cop that unfolds grippingly in a region that has place only for the fearless.
The bare-bodied combat scene shot between Salman Khan and Sonu Sood has also created a stir among the viewers, adding some more spice to the running theatrical promos.
Sood explained, "I used to workout for four hours everyday to get the look and Salman used to pull my leg and say that I should not look better than him in the movie."
Salman was not a part of 'Dabangg'
People might be waiting eagerly to watch Salman Khan in the role of a funny, corrupt cop, Robinhood Pandey, but actor Sonu Sood, who now plays the main villain in the film, revealed that he was the one who was approached for the lead role, initially.
“Initially, I was supposed to do the role of a cop but when he (Salman) decided to be a part of the film, I was offered the role of the youth politician that I’m now playing,” Sonu was quoted as saying by a daily.
The film also stars veteran actors Om Puri, Vinod Khanna, and Dimple Kapadia and marks the debut of Shatrughan Sinha's daughter, Sonakshi Sinha as an actress.
