'Anjaana Anjaani' music: A blend of hard rock and melody

The music of Siddharth Anand’s ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ sounds like a complete winner. Rhythmically unifying melody with upbeat, youthful and buoyant appeal, the music directors Vishal-Shekhar has grabbed the senses instantly.

This much-awaited Ranbir-Priyanka flick has absolute slew of yuppie–electro club music that surely will enthrall the youngsters. Siddharth Anand, who wanted a music that surely doesn’t appeal on the first hearing, surprisingly does make you love it at the first earshot.

“For ‘Anjaana Anjaani’ I wanted music that grows on me and stays with me forever. And today we present an album that will appeal to every listener and every mood of the listener” stated the director.

'Anjaana Anjaani' music has guitar textures and cadenced tunes
The decent and modest music of the first track of the album, ‘Anjaana Anjaani Ki Kahani’ from Nikhil D'Souza and Monali Thakur has ultramodern and frolicking paced throbbing thumps with elements of animated disco beat fillers.

This futuristic song, with its crystalline electrifying music and the vocals of the singers does truly set the mood for dance.

‘Hairat’, the second number is perfectly different from the first, conjuring up the spirit of jamming with its opening of striking electric guitar blended perfectly with the tunes, and the music is more inexorably tinkered with electronics.

Lucky Ali has sung this song in style. The pump mid-tempo rhythms and his strongly inspired bass lines are crisp and enjoyable.

Ranbir, Priyanka’s 'Anjaana Anjaani' also has influences of Sufi music
Singers Mohit Chauhan, Shekhar Ravjiani and Shruti Pathak’s ‘Tujhe Bhula Diya’ has Sufi nuances adding a pleasant soothing feel. The lyrics and soulful vocals infuse heartrending touch to your senses, when you listen to it.

Incidentally, the remixed version of ‘Tujhe Bhula Diya’ does collide well with thriving beat juggles. This song is instantly an appealing number and the best as the Sufi piece of music is mixed in good measure with the lyrics.

‘I Feel Good’ song from the album has the right mix of English lyrics, and the eclectic mix of rhythms and styles maintains a nice romantic melodic touch to the track.

Interestingly, the singers Vishal Dadlani, and the strong pounding vocal of Shilpa Rao in this song comes as a breath of fresh air.

‘Tumse Hi Tumse’ an another interesting track from the album, has interludes of fun, uplifting, and lively tunes. With multiple guitar elements interlaced with shades of different culture beats makes it a wonderful number.
