Fans world over remember pop-star Michael Jackson

To mark the first death anniversary of pop-sensation (also known as King-of-Pop) Michael Jackson, fans of the singer all over the world will be gearing up to pay tribute to the millennium’s greatest talent, today.

Last year on June 25th, singer was found unconscious and not breathing at his rented mansion at 100 North Carolwood Drive in the Holmby Hills, district of Los Angeles.

At first, his personal physician tried to resuscitate him but when all attempts were failed 911 was called.

Paramedics, who arrived on the scene, too tried to breathe life into Michael, though, later pronounced him dead.

Michael’s death till date is still shrouded in mystery but authorities declared him dead due to propofol (a drug to reduce anxiety and tension) overdose. Reportedly, King-of-Pop used to take propofol.

Michael’s life and career
Michael Joseph Jackson was born on August 29, 1958 to an Afro-American family.

Michael along with his other siblings started his career (as a singer in Jackson 5) in show biz when he was barely a child.

However, in 1971, Michael decided to start his solo career.
By the early 1980s, he went on to become the most successful entertainer recognized and loved by people world over.

Michael was much appreciated for his music-videos of songs like ‘Beat It’, ‘Billie Jean’, ‘Thriller’, ‘Black or White’ and ‘Scream'.

For four decades Michael remained tabloids favorite all around the world for his music, dancing skills, philanthropy and for his controversial personal life.

Michael’s less-than-perfect childhood
From outsiders point of view, Michael had it all, success, money and fame, but in an interview given to Oprah Winfrey in 1993, singer revealed that his childhood was not all that glorious as his father often whipped him.

He also added that he often felt lonely, and cried a lot. There were even times when he vomited on the very sight of his father.

Reportedly, his father had also abused the singer verbally by saying that he had a fat nose. This, very well, could be a reason why the singer was so obsessed with surgically correcting his nose.

However, even after accepting his father's comments about him, the singer credited his success to his father’s strict discipline.
