A source familiar with the incident revealed, “Priyanji has never parted with his glasses. However while settling on a pair for Akshay’s look in the ad; he insisted that Akshay wear his glasses. Akshay was very touched with his gesture. He shot the entire ad with the glasses on.”

Reportedly, Priyadarshan and Akshay were in the middle of shooting for a commercial for a bank that Akshay endorses. In the ad film, Priyadarshan’s favorite actor portrays an elderly man and to complete that very look needed a pair of glasses.

However, the shoot went haywire as the team found it tough to find those perfect pair of glasses that will complete Akshay’s look for the ad film.

That’s when Priyadarshan, who was directing the ad, stepped in and offered the actor his own glasses.

The plot of the ad film, on which filmmaker and the actor duo was working, was a simple one, where Akshay portrayed the role of a common elderly man.

In the ad film, father tells his son about the right and simple procedure to get loan from a bank.

When Akshay was contacted and was asked about how he felt about donning the role of a senior citizen. The actor replied that there’s nothing wrong in playing the character of a senior person on screen and he enjoyed it.
