The Bengali beauty Ushoshi will now be representing India for 'Miss Universe' title, which will be held at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, on August 23, 2010.

Though the contest was held on May 29, 2010, the show was broadcast on June 20 on Sony Entertainment Television.

King Khan Shahrukh, Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Neha Dhupia, Harman Baweja, Indian criketer Srishant, Rahul Khanna and many more graced the occasion with their presence.

Sushmita crowns Ushoshi
The former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen, who called Ushoshi Sengupta “Beauty and brains”, presented the crown to Ushoshi Sengupta, along with reigning Miss Universe Stefania Fernandez of Venezuela.

As quoted by Hot National News, Ushoshi Sengupta said, “'Everyone says that this is a journey, but for me this is the destination and trust me, the feeling of reaching this destination is amazing. When I participated in this contest, I was not thinking of the goal, I was thinking that I have to do it. I must and I will.”

Being an excellent competitor for all the contestants, Ushoshi stole the show by answering a question in the final round of 'I Am She' pageant. The common question that was asked to all the five contestants was, What does patriotism mean to you?

The Miss India Universe answered the question by relating it to her family and said that she feels proud of her father and the country.

Born in Kolkatta, Ushoshi Sengupta has done her Bachelors in Humanities from St. Xavier’s College.

Before joining the pageant, she has walked many ramps and worked in advertisements.
