In a real life drama that could remind a scene from a typical Telugu film, Navdeep and his friends were chased on the streets of Hyderabad by the police before being arrested.
Alcohol, rash driving and the arrest
The drama unfolded at about 1 am, when Navdeep along with his friends, including Kannada film producer Parameshwar, drove out from Touch pub on Road Number 3, Banjara Hills.
As a part of the special drive, the police had already erected several pickets in the surrounding areas of KBR Park to curb street racing menace.
Navdeep, who was reportedly in an intoxicated state, encountered a police checkpoint at KBR park junction. Navdeep tried to speed away, in the process injured a police constable.
The police had to chase him. They blocked the road with barricades to nab the errant driver. When police tried to seize the car, Parameshwar tried to obstruct the constables and even abused them.
However the duo were arrested and cases were slapped against them under IPC sections 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty).
They were produced before a magistrate on Sunday afternoon and were later granted bail.
The actor beyond booze and wild drives
With a good boy image in most movies, Navdeep has appeared in both telugu and tamil films.
Navadeep debuted as the male lead in Telugu film ‘Jai’ in 2004. He played Sathya Narayanan in Tamil hit ‘Arindhum Ariyamalum’ in 2005.
He also acted in Telugu films like ‘Gowtham SSC’, ‘Premante Inthe’, ‘Ready’ (denikaina), ‘Mallika I Love You’ and ‘Yaagam’. His Tamil movies include ‘Aegan’, ‘Solla Solla Inikkum’ and ‘A Aa E Ee’.
