Amitabh will soon be representing Kerala tourism as its new brand ambassador; as the Bollywood actor has shown keen interest to promote God’s Own country.

Kerala tourism has supposedly laid out a program for the Bollywood superstar, as they feel he would make the ideal brand ambassador for their state. The actor too has conveyed his willingness to promote tourism in Kerala.

Amitabh expresses interest
Last month, the actor visited Kerala to present an award to the sound technician Resul Pookutty. Following that in an interview for a Malayalam satellite channel Amitabh had expressed his readiness to promote tourism there.

Amitabh had conveyed this desire in a letter to the Minister for Tourism and Home, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

On his letter Amitabh had shown interest to promote tourism in the state, for which the Minister for Tourism and Home wrote back thanking him for his gesture.

When asked the Minister for Tourism and Home, Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, informed that the offer given was good. He also stated that he wanted to go ahead with the talks and expand the relationship on the matter.

A meeting on the same is slated to take place next week, where the Director of Tourism, M. Sivasankar will embrace talks and plan on constructing further details.

Kerala tourism has taken a particularly new focus on enhancing domestic tourism, as there had been a fall in the arrival of foreigners due to the global economic meltdown.

Bachchan will also promote Gujarat
In January, Bachchan had met Chief Minister Narendra Modi, where they both sat together and watched 'Paa'.

During his meeting with Narendra Modi, Amitabh was asked to be the Brand ambassador of Gujarat.

However, last month they had been further talks on this in Bachchan’s house, where the officials had taken Amitabh through a presentation on Gujarat’s most famous tourism spots.

Modi was particular that Bachchan becomes Gujarat's brand ambassador.

Responding to the offer about being a brand ambassador of Gujarat, the officials conveyed that Bachchan had willingly agreed and thanked the government for considering him.
