Sitting on a wheelchair, holding the award, Shashi replied with a humble ‘Thank You.’
Khyyam was bestowed with the same honor through Asha Bhosle’s hands. The renowned music composer recalled his fond memories, “I started my career as an assistant music director with B R Chopra at the salary of Rs 125. So I dedicate all this success to him.”
To this Asha Bhosle replied, “I credit my ghazal singing and urdu to Khayyam saab”.
