According to tabloid sources, Ajay has already bought all the rights to re-make Malayalam action movie “Puthiya Mukham” in Hindi.
The film “Puthiya Mukham” was one of the biggest hit last year, staring Malayalam superstar Prithviraj in the lead.
Ajay Devgan will be producing the Hindi version of the movie with Golmaal director Rohit Shetty. The movie’s is yet to be titled.
Rohit Shetty excited for action movies
With the Hindi remake of Malayalam movie “Puthiya Mukham”, not just Ajay but director of Golmaal will also be returning back to action movies.
"I have seen Puthiya Mukham three times. Ajay and I have wanted to do a hardcore action film for the last three years. At last, we are doing it,” said excited Shetty whose last action film was “Zameen” in 2003.
The film “Zameen” featured stars like Ajay Devgan, Abhishek Bachchan and Bipasha Basu in the lead was a big hit.
The very talented director Rohit Shetty, is the son of the 80s famous stuntman Mr. Shetty and has also worked under Ajay father, Veeru Devgan.
Ajay’s busy 2010 schedule
The “Puthiya Mukham’s” Hindi version is expected to hit the theatres by the year end 2010 or early next year as Ajay is quite busy with other projects at present.
Some of Ajay’s films releasing this year are Ashwini Dhir’s “Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?”, Prakash Jha’s “Raajneethi”, Kireet Khurana’s “Toonpur Ka Superhero”, Priyadarshan’s “Garam Hawa”, Bunty Lutharia’s “Once Upon A Time”, and of course Rohit Shetty’s “Golmaal 3″, which begins shooting this April.
