Stars supporting initiative taken by Pearls Wave
Pearls Wave NGO (Pearls Broadcasting Corporation Ltd), is a unique initiative to raise voices against brutalities such as abuse, harassment, threat and torture, committed against women throughout the country.
Pearls Wave hopes to put a face back on such exploitation and bring about a radical change in the society.
There are millions of women who require medical attention from gender-based violence, harassment and abuse. Pearls Wave has set itself to fight and give support for such women, ill-treated by their partners or families.
During the inaugural of the new initiative, audio visuals of the NGO was unveiled showing snapshots of women against violence and messages from celebrities like Genelia Dsouza, Vidya Balan, Ajay Devgan, Karan Johar, Priyanka Chopra, Minisha Lamba, Shahid Kapoor, and Abhay Deol. The celebrities opened their hearts and pledged their devotion for Pearls Wave.
Pearls Wave trust to felicitate 10 women
The Pearls Wave Trust had also announced the Ground Event on 20th of February (a celebration for women). The event will felicitate 10 women from different walks of the society. It will be aired on Feb. 28.
Pearls Broadcasting Corporation Ltd’s Director Jyoti Narain, said, "I am thankful to all the stars, came to support the Pearls Wave Trust. Pearls Broadcasting Corporation is a well known name all over India. It has taken initiative to come forward and fight for the causes of the society.”
The organizations philanthropic efforts doesn’t end only with supporting women, they have taken an effort to help women develop skills in fine arts, handicrafts music, painting, dancing, yoga, modeling for physical, mental and spiritual development based on moral values of life.
The organization also help provides assistance to maternity homes, child care centers, Health Clinics, old age homes for the destitute.
Stars speak up
Celebrities like Saif, Katrina and Harman Baweja expressed their intent to raise voice against violence on women.
Speaking on the occasion, Katrina informed that her mom had always been involved with women’s charity. She also expressed that she was happy to help for this cause and to give something back to the society.
“Across the country we have NGOs and people who are willing to help those affected by violence and difficulties in their lives. It is our responsibility to make women aware of these facilities and tell them how to use it to fight abuse," said Katrina.
"It's a brave effort from the organization, equally important for men to understand and support the cause. There are organizations across the country working to spread this message together," said Harman.
He also mentioned that it is "our responsibility to spread the word against violence, stand up for women against violence".
“Don't forget Men are only stronger in strength and women are in many other ways," he said.
Finally Saif gave his major support by conveying that actors being role models have a responsibility towards society and should provide their support to causes like violence against women.
He said, “We need to make people aware about it, if public opinion can be affected with our association we can contribute to it."
