Katrina hopes to get a National Award

Mumbai, January 25 -- Ever since Priyanka Chopra bagged the National film award for her awe-inspiring performance in Madhur Bhandarkar’s film ‘Fashion.’, Katrina Kaif is longing to win one too.

Following in the footsteps of Priyanka, Katrina is all set to shift her focus on good performance. She hopes to win a National from her forthcoming flick "Raajneeti".

Katrina’s Raajneeti
In Prakash Jha’s Raajneeti, Katrina dons the role of a politician. The movie is entirely shot in Bhopal, and is said to be very special to Katrina, who plays the female protagonist.

Playing an intense character in the film, Katrina is believed to have a lot of expectations from this flick.

Katrina yearning for National award
Katrina hopes the film gets a National award. According to sources on the sets, “Katrina is very keen on winning a National Award. She doesn’t seem to hanker after the rest of the awards, but yes, on the sets she often mentioned that winning the National Award would mean the world to her.”

An insider had conveyed that the actress had told Prakash Jha to try and give her a couple of dramatic scenes with the twice National Award-winning actor Ajay Devgan. Devgan has won a National from Zakhm, The Legend of Bhagat Singh.

Katrina admitted and said, “The script of the film is exactly as it was. And I certainly don’t think I’m winning the National Award".

The lady has supposedly even volunteered to lower her price, and is now more eager to be known for her acting skills rather than her looks.
