New Delhi, January 19 -- Anyone who has seen the promos of the latest RGV movie “Rann” will understand that the movie shows the darker side of media.

However, director Ram Gopal Verma and Amitabh Bachchan strongly condemn the notion at a press conference and assure the film shows media in a favorable light.

"I have made the film with a lot of love for the media. I love the media," said Ramu. "There is a wrong perception that "Rann" is a media bashing movie. The video is just an anecdote and has got nothing to do with the film."

Reporters offended with "Rann"
Even after Ramu’s assurance, reporters at the conference continued to ask questions about his intentions behind such negative portrayal of media.

Amitabh came to Ramu’s rescue and diffused the explosive atmosphere with his usual charm.

He said, "I don't think that media is bad. I have dressed well to meet you. I am wearing a nice tie and have put on make-up to hide my wrinkles."

"The media will be proud after watching my character in the film. My role is that of a good anchor, he is a man of integrity and truth. I personally feel very proud to have done this movie.”

Cast of “Rann”
“Rann” casts Big B who plays the role of an iconic media baron Vijay Harshvardhan Malik. He continuously fights for the truth throughout the movie.

The film introduces a famous Kannada actor Sudeep, who plays Amitabh’s son.

Rajat Kapoor plays son-in-law of Big B while Neetu Chandra plays Sudeep’s devoted wife. The film also stars Gul Penang who is shown to be selfish.

“Rann” will hit theatres on Jan. 29.
